Description: This GIS dataset contains polygons representing each county in Texas with attribute data reflecting the risk of operation fragmentation within the county based on an index calculated using average operation size, count of operators over 65 years old, percent change in market value, and projected population growth from 2020 to 2070 as indicators of fragmentation risk. Operator and operation data was collected by the USDA NASS Census of Agriculture between 1997 and 2017, market value data was provided by the Texas Comptroller (1997-2017), and population growth data was provided by the Texas Demographic Center.
